Annual Grants

The Legal Foundation of Washington’s Annual Grant Program provides operating support for programs that provide civil legal aid to low-income people in Washington State. The Foundation supports programs that provide legal aid on a local, regional or statewide basis.

The Board of Trustees uses the Foundation’s Grant Guidelines to make its Annual Grant funding decisions. Priority is given to programs that provide direct legal representation, either through the work of staff or volunteer attorneys.

In 2007, Annual Grants ranged in size from $10,000 to $4.9 million.

Annual Grant applications for 2009 funding will be due August 29, 2008. Grant awards are generally announced in late November.

Please note: First time applicants are strongly encouraged to schedule a meeting with LFW staff prior to submitting an annual grant application.
